Ladies Development vs Stirling Wanderers 3

A fantastic performance by our newly reformed Ladies Development side and a very happy coach!

Leaning into the concept of developing young talent, the Devs handed Ladies League debuts to eight… YES, EIGHT … of our younger players and a debut for Donna Turnbull who joined us as a result of our open day.

Going up against a more experienced Stirling Wanderers side was always going to be a tough task for our new side, but our Ladies stepped up to the plate with fantastic performances across the pitch. Stirling’s experience meant that they took a 2-goal lead before some lovely play in front of goal lead to Savannah sliding the ball across for Jessica Marshall to slot home from the back post.

Stirling continued to exploit some tired FAL legs and pulled ahead on the scoreline as the game progressed.

Highlights from the game include a dominating performance from Abigail in defence, particularly at Penalty Corners; excellent effort across the whole squad throughout the match; and Maisie very calmly winning a Penalty Corner when she had very little support at the time.

Dame of the Day is, however, Evie Barclay for an outstanding showing at both full back and defensive midfield.

A very promising first outing and I look forward to seeing the progress from this exciting group of players!
