Coach Wanted - M1s
Role Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Men's Hockey Coach/Player Coach to lead our M1s performance squad as part of a long term project. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of coaching success, emphasizing player development, team performance, and continuous improvement. This role will involve approximately 5 hours of contact time per week, comprising of one training session (with the opportunity to increase this to a second session) and weekend league matches.
Key Responsibilities
- Commitment: Thursday training session, Weekend matches, Pre-season programme including fitness, pitch training and friendlies.
- Coaching and Development: Design and implement effective training programs that enhance individual and team skills focusing on technical, tactical and physical elements.
- Team Management: Oversee all aspects of team operations, including practice sessions, game strategies, and player selection.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Foster a positive and competitive team culture, providing guidance, constructive feedback and support to athletes.
- Goal Setting: Establish clear performance goals for the team and individual players, tracking progress and ensuring accountability.
- Recruitment: Identify and recruit talented players to strengthen the squad, as well as looking to develop a pathway for players from the youth section.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of coaching experience at a competitive level, preferably with a focus on performance improvement.
- Certifications: Preferred UKCC L2 (or equivalent). Minimum UKCC L1 (or equivalent).
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, organizational skills and tactical awareness. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Passion: A deep commitment to the sport of hockey and the development of athletes.
- Right to work in the UK - we are not in a position to offer Visa sponsorship.
